I'm back! And just in time for #Inktober2022. I'm working on the cover art for my upcoming #PoetryComics chapbook. My #Inktober efforts will be both #ink & #DigitalArt, as I'm trying to develop a rich inky look with both! This one's digital.

I feel like I get stuck using terms like 'mental health' and 'mental illness' a lot just so people will know what I'm talking about. But there are some great alternatives I'd like to help spread around! Words shape our perceptions of ourselves and others. This comic is just my take on things and YMMV, but personally, I'm in favor of using words to describe myself that don't imply I'm sick or broken. I'm not. <3

I've been having a lot of fun with loose, fast, sloppy sketching. It's so much fun to forget about perfect and just DRAW!

My cat-loving friends, I made this comic for you. You know how it is... :-D

Drawing is how I get by. It's how I prove to myself, again and again, that I can put one foot in front of the other. It is how I remind myself I am capable, even when everything feels like it's falling apart. And it's a small miracle - even a simple doodle, and suddenly All Is Not Lost. Suddenly the day is brighter. Suddenly I remember my worth.
